Lookouts Game Notes 4/11/16

Last Time Out: The Lookouts were solid through seven innings last night, but the wheels fell off in the eighth with Biloxi scoring 5R in a comeback 8-5 win for the Shuckers. Chattanooga received solid starting pitching once again with Aaron Slegers going 6 innings with 6 hits, 3 walks and 3 Ks while allowing just 2 runs. The bullpen fell short of closing out the win though as Mike Strong allowed 5 runs in two-thirds of an inning. DH Daniel Palka and OF Travis Harrison were the driving forces for the Lookouts offense in the loss. Palka was 2-for-5 with a 2B and 3 RBI while Harrison went 2-for-2 with two walks and his first HR of the season.
Buy One Get One Free: The Lookouts infield was on their collective defensive games last night as they turned a team record 6 double plays. They turned two each of the 5-4-3 and 6-4-3 varieties and got one each of the 4-6-3 and 6-3 plays.
Hot From The Top: CF Zack Granite has carried his weight from the leadoff spot in the lineup the last two games. Over this weekend, Granite was 4-9 with two runs and a walk.
Call to the ‘Pen: Brett Lee made his first appearance out of the bullpen since 2014 last night, giving up one run on three hits in an inning of work. Lee was 6-4 with a 3.10 ERA in 16 starts for the Lookouts last year.
Opening Day: The Lookouts return to AT&T Field tomorrow for their 2016 home opener. First pitch is at 6:15 and will be proceeded by a ceremony recognizing the teams 2015 Southern League Championship and followed by the first fireworks show of the year.
