Last Time Out: The Lookouts dropped a four hour marathon game to the Smokies Friday night 7-6 in 11 innings. Felix Jorge was the first of five pitchers to throw for Chattanooga, going five innings with five hits and three runs allowed, while striking out a pair and walking one. Omar Bencomo, Zach Jones, Jake Reed and Brandon Peterson threw the remaining six innings each allowing a run. Edgar Corcino hit his second homer of the series and finished with 3RBI while Travis Harrison, Engelb Vielma and Levi Michael all had two hit nights.

Missing Bats: Stephen Gonsalves has K’ed 29 batters in 32.2 innings pitched across six starts for the Lookouts. The LHP allowed eight runs in his first two starts lasting just 8.2 combined innings, but has thrown 24 innings with 12 hits and three runs allowed in four starts since. Southern League batters are hitting just .207 of Gonsalves entering tonight’s start.

Closing Time: Trevor Hildenberger threw another scoreless inning Wednesday while striking out a batter in the 9th inning. Even more impressive, Hildenberger has allowed just three earned runs in 36 innings pitched for an eye-popping 0.70 ERA. Trevor’s 16 saves are the most by a Lookout since 2013 when Yimi Garcia finished with 19. Trevor was placed on the disabled list with right elbow tendonitis Friday, 7/29.

D-E-F-E-N-S-E: The Lookouts defense committed an error Friday but still lead the league with a .984 team fielding percentage and lowest error total with 64 in 104 games. Chattanooga also leads the league in double plays turned with 113.

In-the-Clutch: Mitch Garver drove in three runs Wednesday with a double and his 10th homer of the season to run his total to 61 RBI, the fourth highest total among Southern League hitters. Garver has been a driving force for the Lookouts offense all season, batting .333 with runners in scoring position and .322 with runners on.

Streaking: The Lookouts fourth loss in a row to the Generals ensured the end of their series victory streak. Chattanooga had won 10 straight sets of games, last losing a series the last time they were in Jackson back in May.
