Last Time Out: The Lookouts were shutout in back to back games, losing to the Jacksonville Suns in the series finale 3-0. Chattanooga’s offense managed just five hits with no player finishing with more than one base knock. Felix Jorge picked up a quality start on the mound, but took the loss after allowing three runs and seven hits in 6.2 innings. Zack Jones and Jake Reed both threw scoreless outings to finish the game. Jones also struck out three in his 1.1 perfect innings of work.

Missing Bats: Stephen Gonsalves has K’ed 55 batters in 44.2 innings pitched across eight starts for the Lookouts. The LHP allowed eight runs in his first two starts lasting just 8.2 combined innings, but has thrown 36 innings with 19 hits and five runs allowed in five starts since. Southern League batters are hitting just .195 against Stephen in 159 total AB.

VS. BIR: Zach Granite and Levi Michael have both had big success at the plate against the Barons. Granite is hitting .434 in 12 games against BIR with 11 runs and seven driven in while Michael has a .333 average through 11 games with eight runs scored and six RBI.

Roster Shuffling: Two Lookouts that have been in Chattanooga all season got the call up to Triple-A Rochester Tuesday, with Mitch Garver and Leo Reginatto heading up. Garver will be missed at the plate where he was hitting .257 but had been a scoring force for the Lookouts with 11 homers and 66RBI, the most by a Lookouts player in 2016. Joining the Lookouts are familiar faces TJ White and Heiker Meneses. White played with the Lookouts for 34 games between May and June before going back down to Ft. Myers while Meneses was a member of the Southern League Championship winning version of the Lookouts in 2015.

Innings-Eater: David Hurlbut, last Monday’s starter, has gone six or more innings in 15 of his last 17 starts. The LHP is averaging 5.9 innings per start (136/23 GS) and leads the Southern League in frames thrown. His 136 innings pitched is the highest total of his career (next highest: 119 IP across three levels last year).

Decisions, Decisions: RHP Kohl Stewart has received a decision in every game since his Lookouts debut, earning his sixth win Saturday (6-5). Stewart is 4-1 in his last five starts with a 1.74 ERA in 31 innings pitched during that stretch.
